·      Spann 24/7- This is a weather app updated daily by real, local meteorologist James Spann. This app contains live video, radar (both current and future), and weather videos. Most weather apps are automated and not monitored by real meteorologists. This app is great for teaching accurate weather to students. It also has a section to help prepare a plan for certain weather situations. This app is free. Students can also submit videos, photos, and messages to Spann through the app.
·      The Human Body – This app teaches everything about the human body. It uses various realistic figures, interactive images, and illustrations to help get kids involved. This app is full of animated images that highlight the various body systems and how they work. Students can click on each system and see how the body reacts to various stimulants, food, bug bites etc. and learn all kinds of things about the human body through hands on exploration and play. This app cost $2.99 but is worth it with all the detail it has to offer.
·      Pocket Universe: Virtual Sky Astronomy – This app helps make astronomy and the vast space a little less mysterious. It helps students learn the names of constellations, bright stars, planets and more. They can take virtual walks on different plants. You can use this app at night by holding it up in front of you and it will show exactly what you see but with names and information about what is currently in the sky.
·      Ultimate Dinopedia: Complete Dinosaur Reference – This app has everything you need to know about dinosaurs. National Geographic created it. Students can learn everything there is to know about dinosaurs with the most up to date information. They can even learn who would win in battles and why they died out. This app also contains interactive dinosaur family tress that shows the evolution of these giant creatures.
·      easyLearn Magnets HD – This is an interactive app that teaches kids all about magnets and magnetism. It contains lots of real world pictures and figures. It gives students a great visual understanding of the topic of magnets.
·      Gro Garden- Kids can grow plants in minutes all while learning about  the actual process of growing plants. It also teaches students about the benefits that plants bring when you eat them. After planting the seeds in the ground, kids must alternate between watering and spreading sunshine on the seeds to help them grow. Once they’re fully grown, they can harvest the seeds and take them into the house for the animals to enjoy. It also teaches kids about concepts such as healthy eating and how bugs, dead leaves, and uneaten vegetables can be used to create compost to help new plants grow.
